UNIT 9 - ASSESSMENT

                  I.                  Introduction:
It is important for health and wellness professionals to develop psychologically, spiritually and physically because in order to be an effective guide you will need to have the necessary skills. Meditation for me would be the area that I believe would need the most development. It is an area that I am working on and continue to work on as I grow.

                II.                  Assessment:
In my areas of assessment in a range of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest I would rate my assessment as follows: Spiritual is 8; Physical 6 and Psychologically is 7. I believe there is always room for improvement in all areas of my life. Due to scheduling, I neglect giving myself more time to be physical. Therefore, this area of my life requires more work.

              III.                  My Goal Development:
List at least one goal you have for yourself in each area, Physical, Psychological (mental health) and Spiritual.

Physical – Devote at least ½ hour three times per week to cardio, and 1 hour three times per week to yoga.

Psychological – Take more time out to utilize stress relieving techniques and relax. Concentrate on meditation until I have mastered it.

Spiritual – Become more involved in church activities and ministries and dedicate more time to read and understand the Bible.

IV.                  My Practices for personal health:
Physical – Prepare a schedule and routine and stick to it. Don’t use excuses to deter from the plan.

Psychological – Stop, think about how I will react before reacting. Set times throughout the day to implement techniques to relieve stress. Practice meditation until I perfect it.

Spiritual – Join other ministries in the church. Set time aside each day to reflect and/or medicate.

                V.                  Commitment:
In assessing my progress or lack of progress over a six month period, I can maintain a log and/or a journal to document my daily accomplishments or non-accomplishments. I could also enlist friends and family to hold me accountable. I can re-evaluate myself monthly to review my progress or lack of progress.
